Living With Diabietes
Hi there everyone... and welcome to my pages for Diabetes ... I was diagnoised with Diabetes just this past March. Since then I have learned so much about this disease and how it can affect your life .. I have also learned that with a little self discipline and control most people with Diabietes can still lead a normal and happy life.
Like most of us when I first found out I had Type 2 Diabeties I was scared to death but, after getting some great advice from my doctor and other family members I felt better just knowing that I didn't have to let this disease control me. Luckily there are so many options for treatment And with your doctors help finding the right one for you can make all the difference.
Now even the dreaded part ( checking your sugar levels ) doesn't have to hurt as bad as it use to ... there are so many different wonderful types of meters out there .. your doctor and pharmysist can help you determine which one is right for you.
The reason I made this page is to hopefully provide you with information and informative links that will help you learn more about this disease. But, here is the best advice I can offer you when dealing with Diabietes
1) Always check your sugar levels according to your doctors request I can't express how important this is. 2) Whatever form of treatment your doctor recommends follow it always rather it be pills or the shots. 3) Follow the diet reccomended by your doctor and or nutritionist 4) Always get plenty of excersise ... ( of coarse speak to your doctor about an exersise regimen that is right for you ) 5) Always keep something on you in case your sugar drops to a dangerously low level for example .. a peperment or peanut butter cracker. 6) I highly recommend attending a Diabites class if one is offered in your area as well as checking to see if your area has a Diabetic support group
I'm still learning so i'm sure i'll be adding to this list as I go along Please remember I am not a doctor ... so no advice I offer can beat listening to what your doctor tells you This is only info from my personal experience with Diabietes
If you have something you'd like to share .. such as a link or perhaps your story Please feel free to mail me anytime.
Here's hoping that one day they'll find a cure.
